Ringtones are the sound to convey you when you receive an incoming call or message. They allow you to express yourself and highlight your uniqueness and style. If you have a distictive ringtone, you know when it is your mobile phone ringing and not somebody else’s. People are nowadays very much attracted to the latest ringtones as they find them very appealing. They always want to keep up with the times by using distinctive ringtones to distinguish callers, to identify callers without looking at your mobile phone.

Mobile ringtones primarily come in three different types; monophonic ringtones, polyphonic ringtones and true tones. Monophonic ringtones are simple tones most commonly compatible with today’s phones. They are made up of a series of sequential beeps at different frequencies.

Polyphonic ringtones have the ability to produce 16 separate sounds at once creating a harmonic melody. All the latest models support polyphonic ringtones. Almost all the newer phones from manufacturers like Motorola, Samsung, Siemens, Sony-Ericsson, LG, Sanyo, Panasonic now have ringtones capabilities.

True tones or MP3 ringtones, the newest option in the ringtone industry, have original voices and original instruments. They not only feature current hits but music of the past and top hits of tomorrow as well.
